Pergolas
Wood beams and rafters over a patio or deck. Shade on hot days, and a frame for lights or climbing plants.
Pergolas · patio covers · outdoor kitchens · fire pits · screened porches
The rain here doesn't stop for patio season. A roof overhead, a fire to sit around and a kitchen within reach turn the back yard into a room you'll use in October, not just July.

Try it
Pick what goes overhead and what goes under it. Then make it rain, or switch to evening, and see how it holds up.

What we build
Wood beams and rafters over a patio or deck. Shade on hot days, and a frame for lights or climbing plants.
A real roof over the patio, so you can sit out in the rain. Gable or shed roof, tied to the house or on its own posts.
See covers we've builtWe frame it, set the block, and install the counters, cabinets and grill. Licensed subs run the gas and electric. Built on pavers or your existing patio.
Built-in fire pits with room for chairs all the way around, set out in the open away from the house, the cover and the trees.
Low block walls around a fire pit or the edge of a patio, built at sitting height, so there's always a seat for one more.
Screens on a covered porch or patio, so you can sit out on a summer evening without the mosquitoes.
Gas and electric are done by licensed subcontractors. We build the structure; they run the gas line to the grill and the wiring for lights, fans and outlets. Patios themselves are on Urban Edge Hardscapes and decks on Urban Edge Fence & Deck.

Questions
A pergola is open on top. It gives shade and a frame for lights or plants, but the rain comes through. A patio cover is a real roof, so you can sit out under it in a November rain.
Often, yes. At the design visit we look at where the roof and wall can carry it. If the house isn't a good fit, the cover can stand on its own posts.
No, we don't pour concrete. Outdoor kitchens go on a paver patio or a patio you already have. If you need the patio too, our Hardscapes side builds it first.
Licensed subcontractors. We frame the kitchen, set the block and install the counters, cabinets and grill. They run the gas line and the wiring.
We keep wood-burning fire pits out in the open, away from the cover, the house and the trees. The cover is for the kitchen and the table; the fire pit gets its own spot in the yard.
Covers and screened porches can, depending on the size and your city. We check the rules before we quote, so there are no surprises.
